For those of you on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) or Paleo Diet, lunch tends to be the hardest meal. Here are some ideas and brands that might help….

I always try to think 1 protein, 1 fruit and 1 veggie. However, it does not always happen that way. Sometimes we end up with 2 proteins and 1 fruit or 1 protein and 2 fruit or some other combination. However, I always see it as my goal!

Suggestions…. Please double check brand ingredients at the time of purchase because manufactures are known from changing ingredients without notice.

Protein options:

Fruits options:

  • Endless options…..
  • banana and cashew, peanut or almond butter (extra protein)

Veggies options:

  • Carrots and Hummus (extra protein)
  • Celery and Hummus
  • Options for my kids are limited in this category in regards to convenience…

Xtra Protein options:

  • Cashews, Peanuts, Almonds….any nut or tree nut
  • Lärabar are a great option too. Not all the bars are SCD “legal” but a few are such as cashew cookie, banana bread, blueberry muffin, carrot cake and apple pie
